Edinburgh B&B finds its way to top of rankings

Sue Thompson opened the doors to Six Brunton Place in 2009 with no background in hospitality.  As an architect by training, setting up her guest house was the easy part.  Getting travelers in the door, however, proved challenging; she had neither experience nor an established professional network on which to rely. Fast forward three years, and Six Brunton Place is now thriving — and ranked #2 on TripAdvisor out of 437 Edinburgh B&Bs.  Click below to watch Sue tell the story of her success:

  2. Although we have been in business for almost 18 years, it is always helpful to have others add to our information concerning guests and accommodations. We too, have found reviews from TripAdvisor to be a wonderful draw for new guests at A Cascade View Bed & Breakfast in Bellevue, Washington (near Seattle). Congratulations Sue–perhaps one day we can visit you in Edinburgh.

We at Hollywood B&B had the same experience. We opened in ’08 and didn’t know about TripAdvisor for a year when a guest mentioned they had read nice things about us. We now realize how important reviews are.

  5. What a fabulous address just to start with.

We too are new to the hospitality industry and latched on to Trip Advisor early on; we are already at the top of the reviews in our area and are in the top 5 for the county of Gwynedd in NW wales; not bad in less than 2 years.

Customer feedback drives quality in every aspect of our little business and like you we strive to improve on that all the time.

Well done you and well done Trip Advisor – we can’t fault them.

If you are passing this way any-time please do call; you will be very welcome.

    Have a happy Christmas!!

    Jane and Brian Thomas
