Going green? Get recognized with the GreenLeaders Award and Widget

In a recent TripBarometer by TripAdvisor survey, travelers and accommodation-providers both agreed that eco-friendly travel is important.*

TripAdvisor has launched our new GreenLeaders Program in celebration of the eco-friendly practices that accommodations are implementing!  It’s our way of recognizing properties that are adopting green practices.

If you’d like to participate in the GreenLeaders Program,
the first step is to complete an application at green.tripadvisor.com. Based on your application, you may receive a GreenLeader Award – either Partner, Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. If you receive an award, a certificate for your front desk will be sent to you and a badge will appear on your TripAdvisor listing page to help travelers identify your accommodation as eco-friendly.

Here are a few more things you should know about the GreenLeaders Program:

– It’s a completely free and voluntary program – just submit an application at green.tripadvisor.com (you must be a verified business representative)
– It’s currently open to hotels and B&B’s in the United States, with plans to expand to other countries soon
– Awards are valid for one year and properties can reapply annually
– Award levels are determined based on the extent of green practices you have in place

Winning properties can celebrate by adding the GreenLeaders widget to their own websites. To get yours, visit www.tripadvisor.com/widgets. The widget will live on your website until your GreenLeaders Award expires. If you win another GreenLeaders Award in the future, the widget will automatically refresh to your new level.
